Recovery of Collagen/Gelatin from Fish Waste with Carbon Dioxide as a Green Solvent: An Optimization and Characterization
نویسندگان
چکیده
Fish processing produces large amounts of fish waste. Instead disposing it, it is wiser to recover the valuable resource for high-value-added products. Our study proposed a process using carbon dioxide-acidified water as green solvent under supercritical conditions successfully collagen/gelatin from skin and bone striped catfish. The optimum extraction were obtained at 75 bar, 37 °C, 24 h. yields dry mass around 37% 8%, respectively. extracted products characterized by Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy functional groups, scanning electron microscopy evaluate morphology, sodium dodecyl-sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis protein pattern, UV–vis analysis measure absorption peak, thermal gravimetric determine denaturation temperature. results show viability method on an industrial scale. characteristics product promising potential being developed further in many applications such biomaterial engineering healthcare or natural polymer-based absorbent material efficient removal heavy metals wastewater.

Maltodextrine nanoparticles loaded with polyphenolic extract from apple industrial waste: preparation, optimization and characterization
The main aim of this study was to prepare apple pomace polyphenolic extract (APPE- referred to as a core) loaded into biodegradable and commercially available natural polymer such as maltodextrin (MD-referred to as a shell). The polymer coating potentially improves its low stability and bioavailability and also directs the control release of the encapsulated material. The MD-nanoparticles (NPs)...

In this research, process asymmetric polyetherimide hollow fiber membranes using ethanol (0, 2 and 4 wt%) as non-solvent additive in the polymer dope via phase inversion method were fabricated. Aqueous solution of 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidine (NMP) (90%) was applied as a bore fluid to avoid inner skin layer formation and water was used as the external coagulant. The morphology of fabricated membranes...
متن کاملSub-critical water as a green solvent for production of valuable materials from agricultural waste biomass: A review of recent work
Agricultural waste biomass generated from agricultural production and food processing industry are abundant, such as durian peel, mango peel, corn straw, rice bran, corn shell, potato peel and many more. Due to low commercial value, these wastes are disposed in landfill, which if not managed properly may cause environmental problems. Currently, environmental laws and regulations pertaining to ...
